the problem with this is people jump to pills as the first choice solution, because they think, “oh, there’s something wrong with my brain, so i need medication to fix it.”  medication should always be a last resort.  our thoughts, actions, behaviors, and the way we take care of our bodies can have as much if not more of an impact as meds on our ultimate state of mind.  people forget that the mind and body are not separate; it’s all energy.  our thoughts are energy and chemical reactions - technically it’s all “physical.”  i always like to reference the story of the young boy with cancer who was put through an experimental treatment where he played a specially designed video game, in which his character was fighting a “villain” in a situation that resembled white blood cells fighting cancerous cells.  his cancer disappeared.the power of the mind is astonishing.  always try alternatives before pills.  pills are just a bandaid.  they never fix the root, and often they cause more damage than help.

Except that what you just said is very dangerous too. Because people will take this “the mind is powerful” and run with it, and use it as an excuse not to get treatment. It’s just as dangerous as people who think god is going to cure them. We have treatments for illnesses for a reason. Because for the most part, that’s your best shot. Maybe not 100% of the time, but chemo and the like DOES save lives. Telling someone with cancer to try curing themselves with ~their mind~ first isn’t right.

All I can say is…if I or someone I love ever gets cancer, I hope to God that the doctors will try medicine before they try video games.

also if you’re going to try that story I would like extensive evidence from a reputable source.
